Maureen Aladin, singer/songwriter, actress and writer, claimed victory on April 2nd at the First Annual Miss Creole Beauty Pageant, held in West Palm Beach, Florida.
Ms. Aladin was one of 11 contestants who competed in the categories of poise, conversational skill, cultural dance, casual, swim and evening wear.
As the first ever Miss Creole, Ms. Aladin is eager to shed new light on the country of her ancestry. She embodies the essence of Haiti: beautiful, rich in culture, vibrant, steep with knowledge forged from the wisdom of ancestors and the curiosity and passion of her parents and peers. Maureen symbolizes the elegance that is French and the dynamism that is Creole.
